Switching from Wix to another platform: the questions a Wix or WordPress pro asks first
You already know how to win clients and build sites. These are straight answers about what changes on iNterGine: we build each site from your free work order, you keep every dollar you charge, and there is nothing to keep updated, so you can do more business, faster. No technical learning curve either: you only build if you want to.
Straight answers
Who builds the first version, and can I change it afterwards?
iNterGine builds it, free, from your work order in 2 to 3 business days, and e-mails you the address and your admin login. From then on it is yours to change like any site you build: edit any page in place (edit mode), add ready-made sections, change the look in the Template Kit.
Do I need to be technical?
No. On Wix or WordPress you build the site yourself, and on a WordPress site you also keep WordPress up to date and check that its plugins and themes still work with each new version (WordPress.org: Updating WordPress, read 7 November 2026). Here you do not build anything unless you want to: we build the site from your work order. A finished site can be spoken to, and it comes with tools that do the routine work for its owner: the Concierge answers visitors' questions from the site's own facts, any hour, and the content tools help write pages and posts.
Can I use my own design and code?
Yes for design: colours, fonts, spacing and effects in the Template Kit, plus your own CSS, and pages accept your own HTML. Page content does not run your own JavaScript (scripts are removed when a page is saved), and you will rarely miss it: everything a site usually needs a script or plugin for (store, booking, forms, galleries, members area, the phone app) is built in. Need something extra? It runs as an app in the site's app area, and our in-house app development team can build it.
Who owns the site and the domain?
The business. Once a business pays for its site, the site is theirs, and iNterGine does not sell domain names: the domain is registered in the customer's own name and stays theirs (Program Rules). You point their domain at the site.
What does my client pay, and what do I earn?
The website is $360 a year ($30 a month), paid to iNterGine on the site, by the client or by you on their behalf. Your own fees come on top and are yours: a set-up fee, a monthly care fee, extras. iNterGine takes no cut and pays no commission, unlike Wix's and Automattic's partner programs; see what one client site earns you and costs you in hours.
What happens if the client says no?
Every new site is a free 30-day trial. If nobody subscribes on the site's own subscribe screen, it closes by itself when the trial ends, and nobody owes anything for it.
Are there plugins to keep updated?
No. The online store, booking, forms, a members area, the installable app (app settings), SEO tools and the AI Concierge are part of the platform, and the platform is hosted and updated for you. For the rare thing a site does not do yet, there is the app area, and our in-house app development team can build the app.
Can my client sell online?
Yes: products, a cart and checkout are built in; the store takes payments once a payment gateway such as PayPal is connected.
How fast are the sites?
Measured, not claimed: the same website scored 46 on Wix and 86 on our platform in Google Lighthouse's phone test. See the real speed test, with the method and every number.
Can I move a client's existing site over?
Send a work order with their current website and social links: the build gathers their words, photos, opening hours and reviews from there (Work Order). Their domain stays theirs and is pointed at the new site.
Will iNterGine contact my client or take them over?
No. Whatever you charge, and any agreement or invoice between you and your client, is between you and them: iNterGine takes no cut and does not get involved (Program Rules).
Where do I get help?
The help site shows every admin task with numbered pictures and a short video. Questions about a work order: text 775-644-0030 or e-mail info@intergine.com.
What you trade, and what you get
- A platform share. Wix and Automattic pay partners a share of what clients spend; iNterGine pays none.
- Plugin hunting. There is no plugin directory to search, buy from and keep updated, because almost everything a business needs is already built in; anything extra is built as an app by our in-house app development team.
What you get for the share is more: no technical learning curve, more included in every site, sites built for you in 2 to 3 business days, nothing to build, buy or update, sites the owner can simply speak to, faster sites, and every fee yours. So you can take on more clients in the same week, and earn more, sooner.
